Dr. Madan Meena

Dr. Madan Meena, Honorary Director of the Adivasi Academy, is a multifaceted artist, researcher, and writer born in 1974 in Narayanpur, Rajasthan. His rural upbringing deeply influences his artistic endeavours. Dr. Meena works extensively with Rajasthan’s rural, nomadic, and tribal communities, aiming to document and preserve their identities. His doctoral thesis, “Art of the Meena Tribe,” explored his ancestral community’s traditions and was accompanied by an exhibition of wall paintings by Meena women, showcased both nationally and internationally.

Adivasi Academy is established by the Bhasha Research and Publication Centre, Vadodara, the Adivasi Academy is established to create a unique environment for the study and understanding of Adivasi communities.

Bhasha
Bhasha Trust was founded in 1996 for study, documentation and conservation of marginal languages. The main areas of interest for Bhasha have been language, arts, culture, education and social harmony. Bhasha’s area of work is spread across all States and Union Territories of India. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India has recognized Bhasha as a Centre of Excellence. Bhasha is accredited to provide Advisory Services to UNESCO on Intangible Cultural Heritage.
