Kanishtha Kujur

Kanishtha Kujur is a Textile Designer, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. She has interned with Welspun Group in Mumbai and KSR Handlooms in Chirala, Andhra Pradesh. She worked with Echostream, collaborating with weaving communities in rural Sikkim. Inspired by her mother’s knitting and crochet, Kanishtha chose Textile Design to drive social change. She aims to make handlooms affordable for everyone, believing they should not be limited to the elite. Notable projects include a craft documentation project in Jharkhand and freelance work with Etsy India, assisting small-scale sellers. Kanishtha aspires to pursue a Master’s degree and work with craft enterprises in the social sector, using design to bridge development disparities for indigenous communities.
