Dinesh Bharap

Dinesh Bharap, a distinguished Warli artist, is a custodian of his community’s rich artistic heritage. As the first graduate in his community, Dinesh has become a significant influence on the easy-going people in his pada (settlement) and the youngsters from neighboring padas. Dinesh, a young member of the Warli community, stands as the lone torchbearer of Warli art in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Through his evocative paintings, Dinesh transports us down memory lane, sharing stories from his childhood spent around the Dahisar River with his grandmother, from whom he inherited the legacy of Warli art. His work not only preserves the cultural heritage of the Warli tribe but also brings their traditional narratives and harmonious relationship with nature to a broader audience.
