Sandhya Lakra

Mary Sandhya Lakra belongs to the Munda tribe and hails from the Chatra district of Jharkhand. Growing up in the midst of nature, she has an inherent love for and a strong attachment with forests, mountains, rivers and waterfalls. She remembers a time when there were dense forests in her village. The increase in population has led to over-exploitation and depletion in forest resources. Her motivation behind joining the Green Hub fellowship was to gain the required skills that will help her work towards the conservation of biodiversity and wildlife in her area.
