Annu Bagmare
Annu Bagmare, a Green Hub Fellow from the 2021-22 cohort, will deliver a 30-minute online presentation on her impactful work in the fringe villages of Kanha National Park through her film Ek Shiksha Aisee Bhee (A Unique Way of Learning),. In this session, Bagmare will discuss her initiatives to empower forest-dwelling communities through contextual education and nature-based livelihoods. The presentation will feature a screening of her film, which documents the efforts to improve foundational learning, develop contextual educational modules, and enhance teachers’ capacity to deliver quality education in 14 villages.
Bagmare will provide insights into the unique challenges faced by these communities and how tailored educational approaches are addressing these challenges. She will highlight the importance of integrating local knowledge and environmental awareness into the curriculum, fostering a deeper connection between students and their natural surroundings. The session will conclude with a Q&A, allowing the audience to engage with Bagmare on the strategies and outcomes of her work, as well as the broader implications for sustainable development and education in rural and forested areas.
The film, Ek Shiksha Aisee Bhee (A Unique Way of Learning), is made under the Green Hub Central India (GHCI) fellowship, a project of Dusty Foot Foundation and Mahashakti Seva Kendra (MSK), that looks at empowering youth in environment conservation, sustainable agriculture, and livelihood through the digital medium.
