Ridahunlang Gatphoh, a designer and musician, will deliver a 30-minute online presentation on her work with Dak-ti Crafts, a platform dedicated to rejuvenating the cultural heritage of the tribes in Meghalaya. In this session, Gatphoh will discuss how she utilizes design interventions to breathe new life into traditional crafts, curating a range of artisanal products that reflect the rich cultural tapestry of Meghalaya. The Khasi people are heavily forest-dependent, relying on forests for shelter, firewood, medicine, and food. They value forests for protecting springs, stream beds, and conserving wildlife, and attach spiritual significance to sacred groves.
