Green Hub Fellows Anita Gond and Bhumika Yadav will present a screening and discussion of their film Jeevan Ke Rang, Jaivik Ke Sang (Transformation through Organic Farming). The film showcases the transformative impact of organic farming on the lives of rural communities. It explores how transitioning to organic practices has not only improved agricultural productivity but also enhanced the overall well-being and sustainability of the communities involved.
Through engaging visuals and personal stories, the film highlights the benefits of organic farming, including healthier food, improved soil fertility, and reduced dependency on chemical inputs. It also delves into the challenges faced by farmers during the transition and the innovative solutions they adopted to overcome these hurdles. The narrative emphasizes the role of community engagement, training, and support in successfully implementing organic farming techniques.
The screening will be followed by a talk and Q&A session, where Anita Gond and Bhumika Yadav will discuss the making of the film, the experiences of the farmers featured, and the broader implications of adopting organic farming practices. The session will provide insights into the socio-economic and environmental benefits of organic agriculture, as well as the importance of sustainable farming practices in promoting rural development and resilience.
The film is made under the Green Hub Central India (GHCI) fellowship, a project of Dusty Foot Foundation and Mahashakti Seva Kendra (MSK), that looks at empowering youth in environment conservation, sustainable agriculture and livelihood through the digital medium.
